I'm taking my Dad out fishing today and it seems I always have bad luck when we're together. Want to try wash for some crappies. Anyone know what depth they have been at? Are they moving in shallower yet? I usually fish 16-25'. Thinking maybe 8-15' might be better now. Any input is very appreciated. Thanks

positive? I'd settle for Coherent.

Went out around grassy island from 1-5 yesterday and fished from 8'-14'. Caught some keeper gills and small perch. Did mark some larger fish in the deeper holes but couldn't get them to bite.

DLK - what time of day are you fishing?

had a few friends out today they said real slow , alot of lookers no takers

Yeah, it was real slow for us. Fished from about 6:00p.m. until 7:30 p.m. I probably only marked about 8 fish total, had 2 bites and got zero fish to the hole. Had a dead stick and minnow, a pink ratso and a couple different jigs with spikes down on our three poles.

There were about 10 groups out there. Would be interested to know if anyone else got any and what we were doing wrong!!

Ice is still in good shape (driveable)?

Ice is still in good shape (driveable)?
trucks still in bakers bay as of tonight

I was out Thursday afternoon and it was the dead sea. I drilled over 2 dozen holes in mud bay, the narrows, and bakers bay and didn't even mark a SINGLE fish anywhere! :0 These were areas where in years past I have had good success too. The ice on the lake was still thick enough to drive on, but getting out from the access might be tricky now. Thursday it was already melted anywhere from 6 inches to a couple feet away from the shoreline near the Westwood access depending on which side of the access you were on. There was a good steady stream of water running in there from snow melt.

Has anyone walked out form Westwood and into Bakers Bay??? Or is it still too iffy for people?? Thanks for any input and stay safe out there and happy holidays!!!

I didnt walk into Bakers, but there were people in there fishing it.

6.5 to 8" of ice in bakers bay

Posted

Crossed from the North access to third point, plenty of ice. Walk was longer then it looked, bring cleats for ice. No time in bakers bay yet, but I am sure it would be similiar

are people walking from the squirrels nest road access to get to bakers bay and whats the ice thickness on the way to bakers bay and in bakers bay?
