what are the ice conditions on washington and is there anyone driving out there yet with trucks?

Posted

I'd like to help you out but I cant I don't know anything but I would like to get my house out there too let me know if you find anything out

Took our house out this evening. Didn't fish but did punch a few holes. Found about 15" average depth. Trucks driving around all over. Not nearly as much snow on ice as I figured there would be. Snow is very hard thanks to all the slush that froze. Went out of third point access. big ice heave in front but stay to the side and no problems even small cars driving out. Access road is very slippery so be careful.

just a note that there will be cars ice racing in front of westwood both days so it might be kind of a mess out there

A good buddy of mine is gonna be in one of those cars. Look for the red eclipse slamming into the snowbanks. smile

does anyone have any more info, start times?

Posted

sounds like a fun time for both types of people racket in one bay makes for better fishing on the other side of the lake, and if the fish arent biting go grab a brew and watch some cars crash into snowbanks.

I may have to stop by to see if they open the swimming pool at the Westwood access again. Just as long as people don't think they can use it as a parking lot. grin

Thanks for the info BK I might have to bring my son for a break after the morning bite and stop by.

I'm assuming people are driving everywhere out there, but just want to know if it's easy going? I was out there when all the slush and stuff was around and there was only one main road out from Westwood. Me and a couple buddys are planning on going tomorrow around noon just wondering if we should bring sleds/wheelers or if we can drive out? Thanks

I was out yesterday and it was easy going from the north access. I was told there are many road plowed out from westwood to bakers. You can get from one access to the other I was told.

Yeah there is! grin Made the trip ok in my Bonneville yesterday tho! Saw a lot of four wheel drive vehicles stuck laugh

Thanks for the updates.

Although most area lakes are safe for vehical traffic, it is still a good idea to use tons of caution. The ice conditions can change very quicky with any type of warm up.
