It's the Vikes fans, with no domination or Super Bowl win in the team's 47-ish year history, who have nothing worthwhile to cling to. winkwink

OK no Super Bowl wins. I think we can all agree on that. But no domination? Come one now. That 98 team never dominated? They were the highest scoring team in NFL history to that point. Those Super Bowl teams never dominated? The packers definitely hold the Super Bowl trump card don't get me wrong but the Vikings have had some very very good teams.

It should be a good 2 games this year with the pack. Will be kinda weird though with #4 throwing to our wideouts!!

I would say the 98 team was pretty dominant, only a deranged cheesehead would say otherwise. BUT they didn't win the big one that year. I feel bad for you poor cheeseheads that have nothing to say about your own team laugh

report about t-jack gone... i read from one place, dont remember what one out of millions of stories on this in the past week, that booty was staying and sage was staying, and t-jack was gonna get "moved" to another team hopefully for a trade. ha!

as like most of the stories reporting on this it probably isnt credible.

With his intercetion history, he may be still throwing to the the green/gold. What a welcome home that would be in GB.

But he wouldn't have as many TD passes if he didn't take chances. INT's are inevitable when you throw the ball that often. I doubt he's going to be relied upon to throw that often with Harvin anywhere on the field and Peterson in the backfield.

You think there going to trade him, or cut him?

It's probably in this thread somewhere, but any idea what kind of contract is likely? - for Favre that is.

For t-jack, I think they could trade for one of those guys that runs out on the field to pick up the tee after a kickoff, might even get a good waterboy in the deal if they play it right grin

Trade him to who??? I bet he will be cut and be seeing at the local unemployment line!!

It would be safe to assume he would just be cut, It's unlikely he would have any trade value. I know there are a few Tjack lovers on here that surprisingly haven't chimed in yet... Rick????

I am not a T-Jack lover, but I think we could get something for him. He is young, has some experience, he has some potential, and would be a good back up for a veteran QB, and like most other QB's we cut, end up being good on a different team!

The Pack have won how many titles since the Vikes came into the league?

The Packers have won three Super Bowls since the Vikes came in as an expansion team in 1961. In their history, the Packers have won twelve league championships (more than anyone else) including nine NFL Championships before they started having Super Bowls. Their three Super Bowl wins were in 1967, 1968 and 1997. They also won NFL Championships in 1961 and 1962, after the Vikes entered the league but before the Super Bowl was established, so really you could call it five championships since the Vikes came into the NFL.

Of course, being the third-oldest team in the NFL, sooner or later the Pack had to win something. Maybe if the Vikes are around a few more decades they might have a few Super Bowl victories to boast about. Maybe. Someday. gringringrin

You're right about that. Even the Lions have four NFL Titles.

The Vikings will win one someday and it will be one of the happiest days of my life. We are just as cursed as Cubs fans are and Red Sox fans were. It will happen someday....right???? please.....

Get rid of the vikings!!!!

Gotta keep 'em. We only remain strong by having other teams to test ourselves against, and since this rivalry is going on 50 years old, it's one worth keeping. smilesmile

Get rid of the Vikings but keep da Bears!!! Vikings mean nothing to me as a Packers fan. Only good thing about the queens is I dont have to drive as far to see the Packers play!!

Ah, but when the Bears are weak, the Vikes are strong, and when the Vikes are weak, the Bears are strong.

This means the Pack must be strong at all times. Well, that's the theory, anyway. They're not likely to be really strong this year. gringrin

It's like a broken record: The packers won a Superbowl, and the Vikings haven't. That is the ONLY thing I hear come from the Pack fans. It's good to have something to say about a rival when your team is no good. Must be hard looking down that road with Rodgers and seeing no light at the end of the tunnel. I know it's tough when your QB is no good(Vikes fans know this!). But look at the bright side pack fans, you get to see your all mighty leader, Brett Favre, beat you twice this year!!

No, the Packers won three Super Bowls, and won a bunch of NFL Championships before the Super Bowl had been invented.

And I believe that, with Favre at the helm, the Vikes will be VERY difficult to beat, unless they beat themselves. I fully expect them to do better than the Pack this year, possibly MNUCH better. Do I like that? Nope, but if you're not having a good year, you remember the championships and good times and console yourself that your team will once again be on top some year down the road. That's probably what I'll be doing this fall, while all the while still cheering on my team.

When you're a Vikings fan and times are hard, you have no championship glory days to relive.

These are simply the facts as I see them. Your results may vary, of course. winkwink

Maybe this is the Vikings' year to get to and win the Bowl. If they get there and my Packers don't, I'm going to be rooting hard for the purple. I'd like to see one of the old Black-and-Blue division teams beat those AFC pukes. gringrin

Good thing you said "most other QBs". Culpepper was horrible without Randy.

Sure I will say it again too. Rodgers is no good. When your team goes from 13-3 to 6-10, what does that say? T-Awesome had some good numbers last year too, does that make him good? Nope.

The Pack's defense (or lack thereof) was the reason for a majority of their losses last year, not the new QB, and it's that's pretty well known. They lost a lot of close games while putting up some great offensive numbers, only for the defense to take the field and let the other team march down the field. Now I'm not saying he's Joe Montana, but he was pretty solid for his first full year under center.

Does picking on the other teams QB somehow make you feel better about the Vike's horrible QB situation (Jackson, Booty, Sage)? Maybe it's envy? Dunno. But saying Rodgers is no good is erroneous.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭
    • Rick G
Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
