exactly Steve he loves to get people to hang on his decisions and what grander entrance than to show up a couple weeks into training camp.....but when the source is Brad Childress I think it is a good source to break the news that he isn't coming back right now.....

I am happy, and now I just hope we don't need to hear about him anymore. I am done with this thread, its time to move on!

Move on to what? A trio of misfit QB's that would barely make back-up status on most other teams in the league? Good luck with that!

I seriously doubt this thread is done. Or at least that it's done with you. gringringrin

NFLN has a graphic up right now comparing T-Jack and Rosenfels. I've heard comparing apples to apples, but never rotten apples to rotten apples.

Ouch, talk about bottom of the barrel.

Oh well, it is time to move on....to more T-Jack "crow" threads perhaps? hehe.gif

I said three months or so ago that I wasn’t going to comment any more on any Favre will-he-or-won’t-he stories until it was officially resolved; I am proud to say I stuck with that.

Assuming that the ol’ Mississippi Drama Queen doesn’t begin having second thoughts about staying retired by the end of training camp, the issue is now resolved. In other words, this story isn’t over—bet on it.

Personally, I’m glad we don’t have to put up with this over-the-hill diva throwing game-killing interceptions for the Vikings this year—now the Vikings can move forward with Tarvaris and Rosenfels. (I favor Rosenfels.)

I am angry, though, that the Drama Queen From Kiln put the Vikings and their fans through three months of this horsecrap, and undermined the position of both potential Viking QBs in the process.

I cannot believe we will play ball with the 3 we have. Not much of a season to look forward too.

My bet is ol Chilli will play his buddy T-Jack. Boy, I cannot wait.

I think T-Jack will do just fine and force a few to eat crow. If it is Rosenfels he'll do well with our offense too. I'm mjust a bit worried about his inteception ratio and the fact he's been a career back-up to date. Who knows, Booty may surprise all of us.

My worry is Childress. If the Vikes are going to really get over the hill he will need to bloom thistear.

Isn't it possible that Favre and his agent are just stringing the vikes out, to get alittle more jing, or a slighty different contract. They probably reached an impasse and Favre said fine, i'll just stay retired then. I doubt this is over, just rhetoric.

Well, that would be coolest for Packers fans. No way you guys are going to win a Super Bowl this season with one of those other clowns at the helm. Go Pack! gringringrin

We still have a better chance than the Packers.

Yeah, since 1961 you've had LOT of seasons with better chances than the Packers. Where has that gotten you? Too bad. Favre would have been just what the Viking ordered, but IF he doesn't change his mind, you can console yourself with the usual drivel that the Vikes MIGHT finish above the Pack, but if the Vikes don't win the Big One, it's just another failed season in Lutefisk-land, and you'll be dipping that lye-soaked garbage in melted butter come Christmas with empty stockings and a pure Chilly-hate. gringringrin

Rich Eisen: What a day! Now Favre tells our Mariucci that he's going to keep throwing & wonders how he'll feel about his decision in the AM. Is it over?

I still think the sticking point was the Vikes wanted Favre in Camp and Favre didn't want to do it knowing it wasn't needed in his situation.

Also, for the record I was not in Favor of Favre playing for us just to rub it in the faces of the Packers Fans. I just thought Favre would give us a better chance to win a few more games.

I am happy for the Packers faithful it really wasn't right having Favre playing for us of ALL teams.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
