4/8-4/9 Report

Just got back from the river. My dad, uncle, and I fished all day Wed. and until 2:00 on Thur. before heading home. The river conditions are great. The current is pretty steady but you can easily fish a 3/8oz jig. We also used a 1/2oz when the wind was blowing pretty good on Wed. afternoon. We ended up boating 27 on Wed. and 23 on Thursday. We found all of our fish in 16-20 feet. The fish were mostly males but we did manage a 27, a 25, a 24, and a number of 22-23s. I wouldn't say the fishing was real easy but we scratched out enough action to keep it interesting. The water temps were still pretty cold, running about 35.2-36.7 during the day. Should be a nice weekend out there. Hopefully the fish will start running.
