Prior Lake ice free?

Recommended Posts

From what I hear, yeah. I'll be out there tomorrow so I'll give the report when I get back.

Prior is ice free except for a little in Candy Cove. Saw a few boats out working some deeper weeds. I would hit upper prior and fish around the creek area.

I was out yesterday and was amazed at how low the lake is. There are areas that docks are in and they look like they are still on shore only 8-10" deep at the end of the dock. You can see the rocks on the area around the island on lower prior the water is so low. We did manage to find fish and when we did it was almost every cast. I did not go into candy cove but there was no ice that I saw.

No markers in as of last eve.

A good pattern for spring crappies on prior is the bucket pattern. You travel the lake and find areas of shore that are lined with people. If they have buckets out just watch a few minutes if something goes into the bucket fish there if no buckets out dont even bother stopping to watch. Just use this patten and you should find fish. grin
