Well I fished the Watonwan River, the creek that comes out of School Lake and the creek that comes out of Lake Hanska today for the 4th time in the last 2 weeks without a bite AGAIN!

Not sure what I am doing wrong? Maybe the fish just are not there yet. I am not really sure what carp do in the winter but I would expect these fish to be in these spots.

Last time I checked carp like nightcrawlers. Ha ha ha I am the worst carp fisherman in the world.

I mean not even a bullhead. I throw my nightcrawler out let it sit for 15 min or so and cast to a different spot............and nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Josh

I have been having some luck fishing lakes where a creek runs in to it. Have only caught fish on the warmer days though. So it seems the temp is really having an effect on the fish right now. They also have been really picky which doesn't help. Most of my fish have come on a small flu flu jig tipped with a waxy. I have been fishing it under a bobber, but have had the jig set so it was on the bottom or just off the bottom. Then slowy reeling it in so that the jig drag across the bottom.

Water's pretty cold still. I'm not saying you can't catch them, I'm just saying that they are a warm water species and aren't running as much when the water temperatures are still below 40.

Keep at it and you'll be into them pretty soon.
