Lake Superior North shore Streams Fishing Reports

Recommended Posts

Still around 36 yesterday. We need some rain this weekend. You should come down this weekend anyway Bufflehead. I'll be going hard all day Saturday.

Another source for looper/steelhead reports is the MN DNR website. A creel clerk works the shoreline and rivers during the spring run and they post twice weekly on numbers, stream temps, trap catches and the smelt run. It's never as complete as I might hope but it's one more source for Northshore info. The latest update is from Monday.

I might need to use Falcor my luck dragon to get to it so you can't track me! I might need my luck dragon to get the fish in the river by the weekend the sounds of it! I heard there was still some ice in the rivers North of Two Harbors as of earlier this week.

Ok, I will do for sure. I am planning on going down for sure. I am getting pretty antsy.

I use 8# Maxima in the river and lake. I think 4-6# is adequate for the lake. The main thing is get a good, abrasion resistant line.

The Rivers are still going to be awhile up the shore farther. The Spring Run-Off just started thurs-fri and we got over an inch of snow today. I'll just stick to the Brule for now. It's going to be two weeks before the rivers north of TH are going to be ready.

6lb Maxima works the best on the rivers up here. Great Abbrasion resistance and really good feel.

Ohh I'm guessing that while all of you are going to be out chasing those first eyes and pike of the season I am going to be sitting on the river all by myself eekeeksmirk

I got 34 degrees near two harbors on Friday - really cold and muddy. I've gotten 39 closer to duluth. We need some serious rain. warm weather is nice, but rivers closer to duluth are getting really low.
