I agree with Sandman.. wow, great first boat.. beats the heck out of my first boat!

My first boat was a 12 footer that I copped from Father in law - and a 6 horse motor I bought for 125 bucks that rarely ran - I bought a small trailer for it - slapped on my FL 6 on the back and I was good to go. I'm a big guy and remember standing up in the back - pitching jigs in shallow cover - missing a fish - the jig flying out of the water from the set - and me flipping backwards out of the boat into the water...

Oh, the memories...

LOL @ MM, at least you had a motor.. my first was a sevelor inflatable, and I sat on the back with swim fins... I was pretty weedless though, and rarely ran out of gas.

Just about ready for open water. LOW, Rainy, Winnie< ML and the Bemidji lakes are where it spends most of its float time--stop by and compare notes if our paths cross.

Hopefully the photo posts!

Yeah... me too Deitz. I actually had two different Sevylor inflatables: a 3 person and later a 4-person Fish-Hunter. It was a big deal for me to have those boats as a kid. Of course, I at least had a trolling motor (little 20 lb MotorGuide), which was better than a paddle...

Here's my current boat... bought new at the beginning of last year. 2007 Lund 1425 Classic SS; 40 HP Merc 4-stroke EFI. First boat I ever owned with a console...

It sure is,with a high-five,5 blade SS prop it will top out near 60mph with me alone!!And it will troll all day at 1.9mph,great motor.

Just to have had a boat at 18-20 would have been nice, My 1st boat did not come until I was 21, 12 footer sea king no motor. Now after 7 boats I am very happy with my 1994 Pro-Craft 1890, one of only 2 walleye boats pro craft ever made, Had it since 1995 and bought it from a pro walleye guy for 1/2 price

ToddB, it looks like your boat is sitting in the same yard that my brother-in-law used to own. Just a few miles east and and then south 1/2 miles? (Si-mar?)

Post Frontal I have seen you out on Tonka, actually late last fall on the West End just south of Hardscrabble. You and a guy were working a drift throwing double tens. My buddy and I were in his White Starcraft. Can't forget your boat, I noticed you kept it under the speed limit of 40 out there also wink he he he. That has to be about half throttle.

Posted

Got the ole' cruise control set at 35...Double tens don't work. We just use them to throw other people off before we use our secret lures...lol Stop over and say hi!

Wow on the FastCat. I have never seen a fishing rig like that. You Lk Minnetoka boys got all the toys. smile
