Rainy Lake?

Anyone know where I can get some good lake maps (for contour and navigation) for Rainy Lake? Am heading there this summer and need to find the hot spots and make sure I don't hit any of those rocks!!

Contact Woody's. They have or had a laminated set of maps that stretched from I-Falls out to the East end. It was a 7 piece set if I remember right. They cost in the neighborhood of $35.00 several years ago. I not sure of the cost today.

I have the chip but I wouldn't leave the dock without the laminated set in my boat. It doesn't matter if this is your only trip to Rainy or if you go every week, this is the "must have" map for the lake IMHO.

I don't know if you have a GPS or not. If you do, make sure you buy the new Lake of the Woods chip. It also includes Rainy Lake and the Rainy River.

If not, buy the Lakemaster map for Rainy. L&M might have it.

I don't think Lakemaster has published a paper map for Rainy yet? Their new LOW/Rainy chip is awesome.

THe maps and chips will help, but there is a reason it is clearly stated "not for Navigation " on both. Do not loose your common sense when on Rainy or your trip will be very expensive. There are countless --and always will be things that "are not on the map" good luck
