Who is ready for open water?

Recommended Posts

I'm ready too now that it's the in between time for the lakes. That should be THE weekend. I was thinking of maybe going a week earlier, but we will be lucky if the ice is gone by the 18th.

If it keeps raining like this, it'll be sooner than later! Gotta soon be as much water on the ice as under it.

Are the lakes getting dark? Has anyone driven past Pelican? I would imagine that the area by the arches is starting to open up.

All the lakes I seen today were mostly black and lots of standing water. Seen ponds that were getting alot of runoff openning up.

The ice on my home lake got real dark in a hurry...this rain is really helping to get rid of the ice.....and I'm ready for that.

Speaking for myself, I am sticking a fork in the ice season for this year. It was a good one, but I can wait a few weeks for open water.

Edges are pulling back, and this rain is not helping much.
