Gov't .223 & 7.62 brass

As I understand the sale of .223 & 7.62 (.308) once used brass is no longer availiable on the open market. The Surplus centers on installations will be required to render the brass unusable and sold as salvaged metal. What does this mean? Those using these calibers of brass will no longer be able to purchase once fired surplus brass and manufactors of remanufactored ammo will no longer be able to either. Yup, change we can believe in. Shelves are pretty bare in my neck of the woods on all reloading components.

do you know when this might go into affect? I am currently near a number of military bases and if it is not in affect yet, I would head out today and ship some home for myself.........I am sure the bride would love that

The Department of Defense has reversed their decision for now.

.50 Caliber and under will still be allowed to be sold for reloading purposes.
