Driving on the Lake - North Arm

Recommended Posts

Hoping to head up to the north arm on saturday to haul supplies to the cabin. The web cam pictures look like the lake is pretty drivable with a truck. Can anyone post:

1) is the road plowed under the causeway OK to use or is there a bunch of water?

2)is there any other good place to get on the lake on the canadian side (Dale's at birch point is the only other spot I'm aware of)

3) is the ice drivable or are the pictures deceiving - I saw fishmeister's post that said there was a lot of water a couple days ago.

Thanks for any info - I'd hate to drive 5 hours to Rainy to find out I can't make it out to the cabin!!!!

HI ASHBAY,

I TALKED TO SOMEONE TODAY WHO WAS AT N.W. BAY YESTERDAY, AND THEY HAD TO USE SNOW MACHINES & COULD NOT TRAVEL BY VEHICLE., I TRAVELED BY TRUCK LAST NIGHT THRU ALOT OF WATER IN SAND BAY, ICE WAS EXCELLENT, BUT WATER ON THE ICE IS ALWAYS SPOOKY!!! ONCE THE WATER LEAVES THE ICE, IT SHOULD BE ALOT BETTER.

SINCRELY,

FISHMEISTER
