Rainbows Along Hwy 35

I stopped by vado's today and they are out of rainbow chubs until the opener. I need rainbows desperately for my trip to grand marais this weekend! Is there any gas stations or baitstores along 35 from st. paul to duluth that have any?

JBMaster You could try the bait store just off the exit in Harris.They had shiners all winter long while most others did not have any. I beleive they have their own ponds so they raise their own. The prices are very good compared to other stores that I have been in. Good Luck in your quest. Scheuney

Fish Lake bait in Harris is the name/////or try Hwy 65 bait on Hwy 65 near Mora....they may have them as well?

What about mike's bait in forest lake on hwy 8?

Thanks for the info, I'll give fish lake bait a call tomorrow. Shiners would work fine too, I just figured there's no chance of getting them anywhere.

Fish Lake bait supplies a lot of the smaller bait shops on the east side of town,if they dont have them.....no one will!@

Called both mike's and fish lake and they are out of rainbows. Fish lake did say they had 11 shiners left however. Went to joe's and settled for large crappie minnows and sucker minnows...hopefully the lakers will "settle" for them as well.

It's good to know that those 2 places do sell rainbows when available for future reference though.

JB, got any ciscoes? I'm sure you can find some up in Grand Marais at either Mike's Holiday or Bucks Hardware. In fact, if you need some, I could let you have a few of mine. I have about a dozen I won't be using this season.

Thanks for the offer...I don't plan on using any cisco's, but I think my dad is gonna buy some. We'll see what happens...the more variety the better our chances are I suppose.
