trailer wiring question..wires through framing?

Ryan_V

Question

I've looked at the wiring post. thanks for that great information. I'm wondering what is the best way to fish wires through a trailer frame?? I'm looking at a used aluma trailer. the lights are shot on it and it all needs to be replaced. the wiring I think I can figure out, but how do I get the wires through the frame??

If the old wires are still running through the frame tieing your new wires to those and pulling them through would be where I would start. Otherwise anything stiff yet flexible should be able to be fished through the frame.

yea if you get a roll of cheap stiff wire just fish it threw. sometimes you can get lucky and fish the bare wires threw but that way just seems to give me a headach

You can get a 50' fish tape for under $15. That's what I use. If the old wires are still there, tie that onto fish tape and you're half way there.
