Finally broke down and bought one after hearing all the good things about it. Oh and had to have one for the GTG I got it for 117.00 with tax.

I noticed that the saw has a bit of a bow to it. Is this normal by chance??

Yea it’s normal to have a slight bow in them. Some of it is memory from being on a large coil. Some of it comes from when I put the curf in the teeth. If it isn’t much it straightens out when it’s being used. If you think it’s too much you can hold the handle and have the point anchored and lightly push the blade with your foot where you think it’s the worst. Be careful and don’t push to hard being it’s only 3/16 material. Do real light pushing till you get it straightened out. Another little hint when you are done using the Icesaw for the season hang it on something by the pin hole in the end of the blade. If it is leaning against a wall the blade will slowly curve towards the wall. Funny material.

Where did you pickup the Icesaw. What if you are the lucky one and win smile the one at the SGT?

I purchased it at the new Monticello Bait and Tackle. Id been eyeing that beast for about a month before

If it wasn't for you "Fish Toys" sponsoring the site I would have never bought one! Sure glad I did though!

lol, either way Im spearing whenever I can, hand auger in all, Ill just have to take lots of trips n visit all you guys so I can use one thats all haha.

It may bend while trimming around a seasoned hole. Just cut in the opposite direction of the bow next time to straighten it out.Can you imagine my grandpa only used a chisel and wasn't afraid of moving this late in the year.

Hey Fish Toys, ever considered making a model of your saw that is at least foot longer? The ice is getting too thick up here for the saw, and I hate the thought of drilling lots of holes, spud barring the points, and shoveling all that slush. grin

darkhousefisher a few years ago I made some with a 60” blade and 15 teeth. They took a lot more time to make and were very difficult to ship. With the 3/16 material they weren’t very strong for the length of the blade. Most of them did go to AK tho.

      I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!

      I agree on the choices.   I didn't mean to say that a battery auger was better or greener or whatever.  I could care less about that.   It just seems that "most" ice anglers have made a switch to a battery auger in recent years.  That's all I was saying.  I know about a dozen people who regularly ice fish and they all have battery augers now.  I bet if you conducted a survey of all ice anglers, the majority would answer that they use a battery powered auger.

      Hey government,  Just give us choices. I don’t care what people use as long as as it works for you. I’m needing a new weed eater. Plan on a Stihl FS 40 easy start. I’m done with the cheaper brands. Just don’t last long enough.  Probably true with the Stormy Daniels of the world as well. Cheaper don’t last long enough 🤭

      If you turn on a movie they survive the 20min ride just fine. After many controlled experiments, I've found that they survive much better if you show "Finding Nemo" instead of "Jaws."
