Thinking of hitting up the Wharf after V-day. Any reports from there this year? Any other suggestions on a resort that has 2 person sleepers?

Thanks

Wilderness warmth has great rates and they sponsor this forum. click the banner at the top and you will find they are much cheaper and a closer drive to the cities by about an hour

I am sorry but the wharf is not an hour from wilderness. As for the fishing, it seems to be just like everywhere else on Mille Lacs, you need to move around to find em!

Yea I was going to say, it's maybe 15-20 mins further north than Wilderness. Thanks for the sales pitch though wink

We went Sunday - Monday, got up there around 5am and fished out near 4 mile in the portables. Had a little luck out that way, then scouted around all day long until about 7:30. We went back to the rental and had the first pout come through around 11pm and continued through the night.

They have their rentals in between Shaw's and 2 mile in about 31fow, I would suggest bringing your portables with and moving around. The ice is great to drive on everywhere, hardly any snow at all. I brought the auger extension, but ended up not needing it (barely).

Good luck

Hey Guys, I'm wondering what the water temp on the St.Croix is. I Haven't herd anything, all I know is that Catfish become inactive after it drops below 60F. I want to know if they have already become inactive, you would think we would at least have until October.    One more inquire,  anyone one know about a nice carp lake north of the metro. Most people don't like fishing for common carp, but they are a great fall fish to catch when they Get 30+ plus pounds.

All right man I'll make sure to tell you how I do, I have also been looking at the sunrise river. The sunrise Looks like one of those rivers that all the local kids fished in the 80's, But then it got polluted and over fished. I'll Try the sunrise one of these days, I don't know what i'll catch,  Maybe it's like in the Simpsons with those Three eyed fish.    As for the rum river, I can't wait to fish that. I'll wait for a nice cold front when all those small mouth start to eat everything in site, They need the fat for winter. I'll make sure to tell you how it goes.
