Add me to the list of people who have had there houses broken into. mad Broke out my side window and crawled in. Didnt take anything luckily. Only thing I can figure is they were looking for high dollar items and there were none or they got scared off. House was just west of Pillsbury off by itself. Guess I need some bars across the windows but it kind of clashes with the knotty pine. lol

Spent about 3 hours in Waconia this afternoon, nothing major but found a school of decent sized perch that kept us entertained...

Started off with small ones, all on waxies (that is what we started with). Switched to minnows about an hour into it and the size/numbers went up. Dead, live, pretty much took either, waxies produced a few more fish as well.

I have some pictures but the method to link them is clunky at best... HERE ARE THE PICTURES NOW THAT I HAVE FIGURED IT OUT

How bout a double?

I spent some time on Waconia Saturday evening. A couple small perch and small sunnies, then at 5pm when the crappies typically move in the vex went blank. I think I only marked 3-4 fish from 5-7:30 and they were not interested in what I had down there. So not a good night of fishing at all, which was disappointing. I had been out on Wed last week and did okay, so I was hoping for another decent outing.

Spent the day on cemetary reef. Now I know why they call it

cemetary reef. DEAD!

I had two bites around 1:30 . Twenty feet of water. Counted to thirty and still missed them. No idea what they were but I had

the largest fathead on I could find in the pail.

Also one bite around 5:00 same thing so who knowes but it was still fun to be out . Very nice day , a little breezy though but not to bad . Better then what I hear they are forcasting for this week.

Has anyone ever had to use a extension on their drills out there? I would think that after this next cold snap you may have to.

Good Luck Fishing!

Yeah stuie next time im visiting out that way I could show ya a few spots.. the 10lb walleye in my avatar is from Nest lake. some huge ones in there. I prefer norway for crappies always have good luck. I hope you dont EAT fish out of foot lake do you? I lived there for almost 20 years and that lake was where they pumped sewage into for many many years. its not uncommon... (unless things changed) to find diapers and trash layin all over the beach at robins island. Good lake to fish yes... eat NO!

Tom,

That sucks! Was your house still in the spot that it was when I was next to you? Or did this happen after you moved it?

Dave,

It was a few hundred yards from where it was when you saw it. Away from the houses a little further.

I got the window fixed, just need to clean up the glass yet and I will be back out there.

As for the girl with the cat she is taken by me. Sorry! grin

Waconia is a good place to look though she grew up in Cologne and works in Waconia. Next year I think she is gonna have to lose the towel for the pic though. lol

Might not have to wear ear plugs when I mow!      That’s a spendy one.  It wasn’t hard to find one of those for $6k.  Comparatively and Ariens of the same size is $4,200.  A home owner grade JD for $3,900.  You could get into a commercial grade Z700 for maybe $8k.   I think the work I did today with mine would’ve killed that one there.

On the south end...   This year's MN Fishing Opener weekend was not only great weather wise, the walleyes and saugers were caught in good numbers.  A main fish gut hauler working with a number of resorts commented it was one of the most productive opening weekends he has seen based on the amount of fish guts collected after the weekend. The goto presentation was a jig and frozen emerald shiner.  Emerald shiners are a staple in LOW and walleyes love them.  Other minnows worked also, but emerald shiners are a favorite of anglers for good reason.   Four Mile Bay held good walleyes in 12 - 18'.  Not a surprise as the walleye bite on the river during the spring season was good and as of late, sturgeon anglers have been reporting catching walleyes on sturgeon rigs.   The Lighthouse Gap area, Morris Point Gap and just in front of Pine Island held nice fish in 12 - 15'.  Across the south shore, 18 - 22' was holding good numbers as well.  As you can see, there are lots of fish around.     A quarter ounce jig in gold, glow white, pink, orange, chartreuse, or a combo of these colors tipped with a minnow worked well.   As a reminder, the limit of walleyes and saugers is a combined limit of six fish, up to four of the six can be walleyes.  All walleyes between 19.5 - 28.0 inches must be released.  One fish over 28.0 inches can be kept.  The possession limit in MN is one daily limit of fish. On the Rainy River...  Some nice walleyes were caught on the river this weekend, although most anglers hit the lake.  10 - 15' of water was the norm.     Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River has been excellent.  The catch and release season continues through May 15th and then closes until the keep season starts up again July 1st. Up at the NW Angle...  Some nice walleyes were caught in 18 - 25 feet of water, a little deeper than anticipated.  Points were good as were areas with structure.  The morning and evening bite was best.       As water continues to warm, go to spots for walleyes will be neck down areas, shoreline breaks, points and bays.     The goto presentation was a jig and minnow.

I found this dock wheel floating in Black Bay. If it's yours or you know whom it belongs to, go and grab it.
