No! no! no disputes , just gave a spelling check on planers creek , sorry !! I myself snagged one back in 95' in the dorsel fin on lake francis one night while shore fish'n it ended up taking 55 min to land what a blast , wieghed 28lbs.

Anyone else been out and want to post?

I was out tonight east of Bungalo island. Lots of snow and drifted over roads. It's really a mess out there with the one lane roads and the banks of compacted snow. I had the snowmobile and it was bouncy even with that. Watch out with trucks, there are a lot of places you won't make it through.

I was lookingh for walleyes, found some crappies, landed two and watched the rest on the sonar. Pretty frustrating. The two that I got were 10" and 12 1/2" on the stick, both went back.

I'll give a report today. I made it out in the dark of the morning in search of walleyes. I heard that you could drive from the north access. Drove past some houses and the tracks stopped after them. Turned around and talked to a couple and they told me some trucks have went through up that way. (first time this year). How is that way normally to the main part of the lake?

I wanted to drive east of the island but after hearing about trucks going through and the snow I turned around. The road was drifted over pretty good.

Drove back on the south side, fished an area farther south where I lost a nice pike and got another pike, bass, crappies, and sunfish on the weededge. Mostly slow but the camera helped a lot. Had a lot of fish mouth the bait, so changed until they couldn't resist. Overall it was a fun day to be on the ice.

Was out on Saturday and it wasnt easy getting the house out. Lots of drifted up snow, my tires were spinning all the way from the public access untill we got to where we wanted to fish only got stuck once. All for nothing, didnt even get a bite. We were fishing 14ft. of water on the north side. Shoulda put it deeper. I couldnt believe how clear the water is, we could see bottom in 14ft.

Went out yesterday and managed a few crappies in the afternoon, pretty slow. I was wondering if anyone has been doing any good for the first 3-4 hours after sunset? Thinking about heading out after work sometime this week.

Sat over deep water yesterday after work and got 3 craps. barely anything moving on the graph, just set the hook hoping for the best and somehow caught three. heater was cranked on high and i was still cold.

Nice limit of keepr walleye, 14 to 17 inches, last evening in 24 FOW.

Caught about 15 walleyes tonight all smaller than 10" Any crappies going at ALL on this lake? I know its not worth asking where to find decent eyes...

It was pretty equal dead stick and jigging

went out last night, out from access by bjs. was accross by the island, nailed about 15-16 walleyes, most small but did keep 4 between 15-19. did catch a few crappies too, all about 10-12 inches, kept 13 of those. I was in 32 ft good luck

thanks. yeah it wasn't too bad, don't fish the lake that much. just got lucky where i set up i think. although i did drill alot of holes and bounced around till i found the best of the holes i drilled. buckshot jigs were the ticket. gold was best. caught every one of my fish jiggin.

Brought the wife out to hopefully get a meal of crappies, but it was pretty slow tonight. Marked a lot of fish during primetime, but only got 2 bites, and missed them both. Pretty depressing. A lot would look, but not bite. Was it the same for anyone else?

was out by some grass reeds today in 12 to 25fow with tipups and sucker minnows and we did ok untill the sun started to set then they shut off all fish were C&R got 6 fish total in 3 1/2 hours biggest (slimer) was around 6lbs

Hey Jim, had a bobber with a minnow, tried a number of different sized/colored jigs/spoons, and also had a tip up out. Tried again last night, also with no fish. Not many fish on the graph this time though.

Was out Sat PM away from the crowds. In 22 FOW I picked up three walleyes (2 @ about 6", one eater) and three nice 10"+ crappies. Very slow and light bite.

I just moved to the area this summer and don't know much about Clearwater, but I was wondering if anyone has an idea about how well the ice will hold up with a week of warm weather? are there any creeks or rivers that will take it out quickly? Are there certain spots that get thin quickly?

Brad,

Clearwater is notorious for thin ice and even more so after a warm spell. Some spots to watch are;

The two narrows areas between the main lake basins- Very Dangerous!

The inlet and outlets of the Clearwater River.

The channel to the Black Pool.

The channel to Glendale Bay

Anywhere there are bullrushes should be suspect.

In general be very careful if traveling with a truck off of the beaten path.

Was out sunday night trying to hook a few walleye's. Walleye's were down there but didn't want anything to do with me. Only caught one fish but, it was a 14.5" crappie. One for the wall, that thing was fat. Hope to be back out this weekend.

Has anyone been out on Clearwater in the last couple days? Looking for an ice report.

ice seemed to be good, i just got back and most of the water that was on top the ice has now refroze. i would pay attention and watch for old spear holes though. as far as fishing they seemed to be really aggressive tonight, kind of like the wind.

Was out on the east end fishing inside turns. Ended up with 4 eater walleyes and a decent pike on a tip up earlier in the day. We were in 22' of water. Good luck to all those chasing eyes this last weekend. I've got a basement to finish so I'll leave them until May.

We had 18" of ice. Ice spikes are needed though, holy slick.
