Walleye fishing in the fall at Red Wing?

Recommended Posts

I'm a novice when it comes to walleye fishing. I do fairly well with bass, but it is mainly lucky when I catch a walleye. My Brother in law from MO is coming up the 1st week of September.

My questions to everyone are:

What would your general expectations for walleye fishing in September be?

Would you focus on the river or on Lake pepin?

Drifting jigs with minnows/leeches etc? Trolling crank?

What depths would you focus on?

I feel like this may end up being like the blind leading the blind :-)
