Fished out of Wigwam fri (new years eve) and sunday. Saturday was a blizzard. Caught 15 friday with one 19.49incher (measured it a lot to make sure) and kept 8 that day. Saturday was a no go but we made friends at wigwam...pretty sure you'll remember us JP and the rest of the gang..we had a couple ladies with us. Went out sunday morning and kept 3. Were way out there in 35ft of water. Wiggles was a great bomber driver...and dancer...great new years bash they had. See you and the gang again up there JP.

Walleye Inn---I was part of the group of 6 from the cities that hung out with you guys on Saturday and played "things". Are you Joey or Trav? Wiggles is an awesome bombadeer driver.... Drivers at other resorts are not as good! What an awesome weekend! I must say that Wigwam really had a fun bar scene for New Years!

So this Friday i've got a day to fish pretty much wherever i want on the lake. I've got a portable and prefer to drive the truck but have sleds available if needed. I've been hearing all kinds of reports lately about whats hot and whats not, so i'll ask you guys this, if you could go anywhere (on the south side) on LOTW the day after tomorrow, where would you go? I was leaning towards five mile, but i've been hearing mixed reports now.

We just got back last night - fished 32' out of Pine Island. All of us were LOTW rookies. Started fishing Sun afternoon around 3 and hit a 13" perch, a sauger, & whitey right away later followed by 2 pout. Mon wasn't bad... pretty slow but consistent bite from 9:30 until 2:30. Mainly 11-14" sauger with a few nice 16" eyes mixed in. Figured Tuesday would be the day with a steady weather pattern but it was super slow. From 9-4 we pulled out 4 fish, one being a 27" eye so it wasn't all bad. We had a great time, hard not to when you're on the ice with good company. Would be nice to be on the lake when she's hot. Lindy Rattlin Flyers and Northland Forage Minnow jigs in Glo Red were the ticket. Caught the big girl on a white/green Demon.

Fished Zippel yesterday in both 26 and 29 fow. Found the saugers out deep. Marked several suspended fish, guessing walleyes, but couldn't coax them in to biting. Filled out for two guys on saugers by about 2. Never caught an 'eye but managed two pesky burbot to go with 30-40 saugers. Beautiful day on the lake. Roads looked good. The snow definitely accumulated up there from last week when I was there. We took a pickup and just picked lower drift areas off the road to venture off the be beaten path. Some of the wheelhouses out there are in desperate need of a plow service. Reports back at the resort made it sound like we were out too deep.

Just got back this morning fished Wed. & Thurs. Wed was the first time I never caught a Saugerall day. Caught 12 Eyes all suspended 2 in the slot I released the others were 15" to 18". Only 10 Saugers caught in the group. I ended up taking my dead stick and leaving it 12' down and did real well with the Eye's. Saugers would only follow it up a long ways and than right back down switched lures with no luck with them. Thurs the weather changed and it really slowed down caught 4 Saugers in the morning than moved back shallower and picked up 3 Eyes 15" - 17 1/2" one guy in the group only caught 1 fish all day not real good. Picked up a couple nice Tul. and 2 pout. We did manage to fill out and have a meal so I'd have to say it was a nice trip.

I agree with my dad, it was a good trip even though it wasn't fast-n-furious. The suspended eyes were fun. Me and my buddy headed over to Babbler's yesterday until noon before heading home, figured the wind couldn't be that bad. It was brutal, luckily we got setup in 27' without freezing anything off!

We fished until noon, got 5 walleye (4 nice 15-17") and 6 sauger. The fishing was a bit easier, all the fish came off the bottom and were fairly aggressive. Not sure what was up with my buddies sticks, he only got one sauger. I had a 10 minute run where I couldn't get my bait down fast enough, got 4 back to back that closed out my trip.

My trip off of Bablers was very similiar today. Couldn't mark a fish off of I think it was the South Arneson's Reef. Had a nice guy pull off the road to help me load my Voyager into the back of my truck (white crew cab chevy/gmc) Moved further down the road and had fun. They hit liked my green stop sign, green buckshot and deadstick with a red hook on it. Lots of small ones but got my limit for the first time.. well ever ( I suck at fishing )

Went out on Adrian's Road yesterday - here's the report:

Caught many Walleye & Sauger before the end of the road, about 7.5 - 8 miles past Pine Island.

They only bit on a Pink Northland glow jig with the red hook and a live minnow. Didn't want anything else!

Active Sauger 2' off the bottom active Walleye 10-18' off the bottom.

i also fished the end of the road and did very well 2 guys thur 51 fri 44 sat 55 and a few case of beer no big ones but it was a good time now if the other 7 trips could be like that i be doing good good luck fishing

has anyone fished 16 mile reef lately? me and a buddy fished just off gull rock last sunday we were in 30 ft. about 500 yds to the north of gull we had to work for our fish but the fishing was steady. i was planning on fishing 16 mile on thursday. i understand babblers road is open all the way to 16 mile reef.

definately wasnt anything spectacular... caught some fish.. but it seems you all did much MUCH better than me.

Three days five guys less then 20 fish out of Zipple and Adrians. At Zipple we were in 23', 24' and 27' with not much other then a 31" Northern and 26" Walleye (27'). Out of Adrians we were in 33' and only picked up a few saugers and a cisco.

Thanks Ranger. My dad fished in 36 and didnt do sqaut. I told him to set up in 33 but who knows if that would have been the trick either. Sounds like you guys did good compared to all the other reports ive heard.

Moved house 11.47 miles from Pine 34ft water off Adrians road total fish caught 55 saugers kept the nicer ones, 6 walleyes biggest eye was a 19" and 6 tullibe's no perch best presentaion was jigging and spooning near the bottom some would follow a ways up then go back to the bottom. it's a [PoorWordUsage] shoot out there find a spot drill some holes and hopefully you park on a load of fish. some of the fish I cleaned had small crawfish in them. Fished out of Zipple Bay 1/7 & 1/8. First day started in 29' and caught 4 keeper walleyes and a bunch of sauger. Moved to 24' of water around 3:00 ended up only graphing and catching 2 small sauger,(we should have stayed where we were). Second day we set up early in 18' after hearing the shallow water was pretty good in the morning. Ended up catching only 2 small sauger and didn't graph much more than that. At 10:00 moved out to 31' a long way from the crouds and ended up having pretty steady action all day between walleye, sauger, pout, and tulibee. Overall the trip was good, fishing was definatly slower this year than it was last year for us and we heard that from many others. The deeper water was the key for us and it helped to get away from the busy roads.

This weekend trip started on thursday night on red no night bite their, roads out arent out very far off road travel is the way if u trust ice. With only one eye in morn we moved to low and on friday was a little slow, caught some small eyes and sauger. About 9 miles out on adrians road, 35 fow eyes were suspended 10' off bottom, sauger were just off bottom. Sat we moved n off road found some structure cought fish did good! Went home on sun afternoon with 5 limits, sun the bite was great wish could of stayed longer! We were using gold macho minnow, red lures,gold, plain red hook , spoons, fat head or shiner didnt matter! Dead stic caught just as many fish as jiggen did, night bite was close to non existant! all in all a descent fishin trip!

The depth that holds fish will vary as you move from East to West. Talked to a couple of coworkers who were up last weekend. First was at Rocky Point, good fishing in 31'. Second was at Zipple, decent fishing in 24'. Sounds like everyone catching fish on Adrian's Road is 30' plus. I'm not counting Zipple out for this weekend just because I can't drive out deeper than 28'.

We had some good fishing from 9 to 11 then just small saugers in 23 fow on zippel I think the weather just shut them down we are going to find a fresh spot and try again. Nick keeps his houses on fish most of the time he really moves them around. good luck and keep warm
