Deer Lake near Effie

Hi,

I'm little of heading up north (live by Rochester) to do a little ice fishing over President's weekend. I have Monday off. My uncle lives on Deer Lake but he is 80 and doesn't talk to many folks about fishing.

Was wondering if anything was happening on that lake or one that is very near there. Bait and lure presentation would be appreciated.

Forgive my sentence from the previous post "I'm little of heading" It should have said, "I'm thinking of heading up north." That's what happens when I'm talking to someone else and typing at the same time. Oops

There is a deep hole we call "the barrel" near the island. Have not been out there this winter yet, but we have caught eyes out there in the past years. You could try fishing the drop off near that area.
