Hey there I am new to the sport of fly fishing, I have really been curious as to some hot spots and where to start?

Lil Sister CDC Sedge

Hook: Tiemco 100 #14

Thread: Uni-thread 8/0-Tan

Body: Hareline dubbin caddis green (back quarter) and Hareline dubbin dark hare's ear (front 3/4ths)

Underwing: CDC feather

Overwing: Elk hair- the one in the picture is natural, but I tend to go a little darker tan if possible with this fly

1. Wrap thread to back of hook.

2. Twist on a small amount of green dubbing. Less is more here, the back wraps should be pretty tight.

3. Wrap green dubbing about 1/4 way up hook shank. Then twist on dark dubbing.

4. Wrap dark dubbing up shank. Leave yourself a little bit of space near the front of the hook for the CDC and elk hair.

5. Tie in CDC feather.

6. Clip elk hair and clean out underfur. Tie in and square off the front as the head of the fly. Whip finish.
