underwater cameras

We will be coming to LOW New years weekend, and are going out to Borderview's sleepers, from what I've been reading on the reports we'll be in 30 fow by then Anybody know if our cameras will be of any use. We used them on Mille lacs in 25 fow a couple years ago but don't know about LOW. Any help will be appreciated. we have both Marcum and Aqua View

the lake is too dirty to see anything

The general consensus is not to bring them. The water is too stained to see more than 1-2 feet. I tried mine in 34 feet a few years ago and don't bring it anymore. Now on Mille Lacs they are fun. You can see up to 15-20 feet.

Don't use it if you are after pout, they're

camera shy.

Leave it home, just one extra thing to carry with no results. Mille Lacs totally different, you can see forever in that lake. Just to murky on LOW. Bill

Cameras are a waste of time on LOW....

If you are fishing under 18 feet of water and while the sun is high you can see about 3 feet. I tried mine at 25 feet and could only see about 1 foot if even.

The Best Use for your underwater camera on lake of the woods is to mount the camera to the back of your Fish house and then put the monitor on your dash and use it as a rear view mirror. Seriously, took my aqua view up there last winter, dropped the camera down the hole in 28' of water, pulled it back up, and put it right back into the pickup.
