Some of our favorite places around deer camp here at Lake Iwanttobethere

The Hotel- our deer shack

Slide for Life- where Elmer slid down a snow cover hill to the

Duck or Dunk Pond

Twisted Sisters- Two cedars that are wrapped around each other.

Lost Swamp- someone always gets turn around in it.

Freeway- a heavy used deer trail

The View- A bluff where you can look down at the river and the old farm

And of course every stand is numbered 1-2-3 or by hunters name.

Dan's stand....he built it, so it's named after him

The lake stand...sort of located above a lake.

The kick-out stand....My neice kicked out her cousin.

The spiral stand....it wraps around a tree.

The Hut.....

The newstand.....it is newer than all the others.

Unc's Sunday morning stand...it is close to the deer shack so on Sunday morning, he can get up, do the morning hunt and not be too far away from the camp when it is time to clean up and go to church.

The corner stand....not ours, but on the neighbors land where 2 sides of the woods meets.

Jim's stand...also the neighbors, but we use it 2nd and 3rd weekend when the don't come up.

I forgot the most famous one....Clown Island...seems about 10 years back a youngster came back to the cabin saying he saw a guy dressed like a clown over on the island...Hense the name Clown Island with balloon markers leading the way...we think it was my brother, because other than the blaze orange jacket and hat, he looks like a clown out there hunting.

"Cop Pine" - Super Cop hunts here; the biggest pine in the woods for the biggest boy in camp.

"The Full Eddy" - Last year, his first year hunting with our party, Eddy sat in this oak from before sun up until after sun down for three days without moving. On the morning of the forth day, as he was getting ready to leave the woods and head back to Illinois, a buck came out of the thick stuff and presented a shot. Eddy's aim was true and the buck fell where he stood. Eddy picked up the deer, through it over his shoulders and carried it out of the woods. Now we call that stand site as well as any hard core, bad a** display of machismo "The Full Eddy".

The Pipe- this stand was built right near a property marker pipe

The ChurchPew- Bench seat was actually a pew out of an old church

Porcupine Stand- When moving this stand one year a porcupine was living in it.

Hole in the Floor- It was originally named the Birch stand, but a couple years ago while climbing into it, my foot broke through... Hence the new name.

Jeep Stand- Seat was from an old jeep

The "Y'

The old "Y" Was a split in the road, however once logged, it took on a whole new appearance

Glasshouse- One of the first sissy shacks the oldtimers used. similar to a 8x8 fishouse.
