was on island saturday.. fish seemed to be holding in deep water 22-30ft. was jiggin light pike-- drifting over 8' area and the girlfriend musta hooked a muskie... it ran and there was absolutely no stoppin it.. i tightened the drag some for her but did no good.. started to see metal in spool when fish turned diagonal back toward boat.. it stopped and ran away from boat again and snapped off.. my girlfriend has only been fishing 6-7 times in her life.. man you shoulda seen her...it couldnt tell if she was scared or excited.......hehehe

The Muskies get on the prowl this time of the year. This year I've landed one and had a total of two follows on three outings. 3 years ago I landed a 36 incher on 4lb test and a jig while fishing for w's. I'll bet your sweetheart is ready of another trip to Island. Aint fishin fun.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
