Great session

My 16 month old pup Copper had a great dummy session on Sunday after the Vikes game. I brought my twin boys out and we all had some quality time and watched Copper work the dummy. I bought the launching system that uses caps and it is awesome.

Good memories -- can't wait to truy him in the field.

Great news and thanks for sharing Dahitman44!

I know how you feel after your pup has a good session. I had our pup, who is 6 months old now, out working the shotgun over her Saturday. Could hardly hold her when the bird was released and the gun went off! No flinching and retrieved the dead bird.

Brought a huge smile to my face and a was pretty proud of her!

Yep that's it. I love that feeling.

I hope to take Copper Tone out to the Pheasant farm this week or next -- that will be a good test for him. I think he will love it.

Hard to say who will love it more!

Taking the Cocker out for his 1st run at live birds this Thursday. 8 chuckar in a small field. 28ga and a 30 foot check cord... ought to be a great time. We've been working the past few nights on quartering and sitting to the whistle (will immediatley be taught to sit to flush ((I hope)) beginning on bird #1) and he is progressing nicely. You guys are correct... there are few feelings in your life that will illecit the joy of a bird dog coming to fruition! LOVE IT!!!

Good Luck!

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
