Dennys Lake of the Woods Fishing Report from all access points
curt quesnell posted a topic in Lake of the Woods Fishing Reports - Hunting - Events
The big news is NO TRUCKS yet. What is all this cold weather doin? Good luck this weekend. Stay warm and safe. Thanks Dennys Outdoor Sports in Roseau Adrian’s: Open; sleds & ATV’s & small SUV’s. allowing 16’ wheel houses if pulled by ATV. Fishing has been good. Cyrus Resort: Open; they are allowing Geo Tracker/jeep Wrangler type vehicles + sleds & ATV’s. Fishing is good 26-29’ mostly saugers. Sounds like you need to have orange colored jigs of most any type. Stay on the roads!! With the cold snap coming this weekend you can be assured there will be a crack or 2 opening up. Listen to what the resorts are saying. Morris Point: Open; sleds ATV’s & side by sides only. 10-12” of ice fishing good in 25-28’ Zippel Bay: Open; trucks allowed to the sandbar, from there its sleds & ATV’s only. Fishing has been good. Dales Fish House Rentals & Winter Access (formerly Babbler’s Road): Open; the following is the same as last week: sleds & ATV’s only. Dale & Connie are the new owners of this access. Once the conditions allow they intend to plow roads that will be wide enough to guarantee it will always be open. They will have roads to the usual reefs plus they are going about a mile past 16 to a spot that was only assessable by sled. So that all sounds great as it is the access that exposes you to the most reefs on the south shore. Springsteel: sleds ATV’s & side by sides have been running out of there for some time now but they are not charging for access yet. The Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club has stake a trail to the NW Angle but not groomed. Lots of rough ice in places. As always with first ice I can’t express enough to use your head & listen to what the resorts recommend & not some other self acclaimed expert.
