Anyone know if there's a shore bite going on in the Annandale area? -
Just when you thought you had seen it all

Over the yrs I have caught just about everything that swims in our local lakes....Andrea showed me a new one, lol... a koi she hooked it while fishing for pannies on a local lake. I have seen them while walking around lake George and one or two in the river over the last decade....but never caught one. We had pretty good luck on the panfish too, few of the hybrids pushed the 1lb mark, and some of the gills were of very respectable size for our area..... bigger crppies haven't showed up yet on this body of water, but plenty of 8-10in ones were caught in the two hrs we fished. -
Got together with a few friends today in serch of some local pig gills. Hit a body of water known for producing big gills from time to time. We drilled holes close to a large weed flat in 8-15 ft of water. Small tungsten jigs tipped with larve turned the most fish. Mannaged to hit the 10 in mark twice....lots of 9+
