Zipple Bay Resort

3 posts in this topic

I booked a sleeper with Zipple resort over the weekend of March 2-3rd. I have never been to LOTW and can't be more pumped. What can I expect, besides getting goofy with a box of beer? I have never fished walleyes past the normal season. Is early March a good time to be out there? We are just to excited to wait, so we figured we would post/read some forums. Do we jig the eyes or dead stick em'? Any info would be greatly appreicated, if not that's okay too.

You headed up to Zipple Resort? Sounds like you have been up here before (past threads). I am used to Mille Lacs.....Is LOTW a better fishery in your opinion? Is it common to have steady action all day like people have discussed? It also seems gold jigging spoons of some sort seem to be the way to go. Man, can't wait. Thanks for the reply Chris 83 and good luck to ya. Maybe we will see ya up there ripp'n lips.

We were using both, but the number of fish caught was definitely based on..... location, location, location - slack water during high flows is where it's at buddy.

I remember when I first moved to MN I went down to the dam with a buncha angleworms. Coudnt keep the smallies off. LOL

Very weird. Those little worms in the garden do catch more than little 2-4 sunfish.

Strange indeed... Try looking for much more slack water compared to the beech you were yesterday and today. The West side of the dam was on fire this afternoon; a friend and I were in the double digits within an hour.

I just signed the petition "Robbinsdale Armstrong High School Athletic Director: Allow Trap/Skeet Participants to Earn a Chenille Letter." and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.

Our goal is to reach 500 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here:
