Fashion goes out the window when it comes to staying warm.

Fashion is for the cabelas crowd.

You want ant to learn how to stay warm, go to where it's cold. Ely, I-falls, baudette, etc.

As fun as the times are bringing out the wife and kids, they also aren't nearly as much out as Dad which makes spending big bucks on footwear hard to do for us.  If you have the money yeah spend couple hundred on really good stuff.  Otherwise $7 felt inserts in the standard boots owned by most, and a really good pair of $25 wool socks with a polyester dress sock under that to help wick moisture has worked for my family really well.  Never had a complaint on cold feet yet and all for less than $40.

If I had decent internet I could post the clip for you.  You'll just have to settle for a hint.  I know you'll figure it out. :P:P

This is another thing that might help the wives enjoy the outdoors a little more.  This actually is my wife's.  She'll try it this weekend for the first time.

Don't worry - I didn't buy it - she won it at her company Christmas party a couple years ago.  I've eyed it MANY times though!  I just wouldn't ask to use it.  When we took it out of the box last night to check/charge the battery she says "I don't know why you haven't used it yet"

The battery only needed a few minutes to top off.

I can't think of the last significant state of the art sporting goods item I've paid full retail price on.  It's always a leveraged purchase of at least clearance sale pricing but usually with gift cards, gift cash, or CC points, and sometimes used gear.

Why am I feeling defensive?  A guy asks a question and we try to help out...

Had a neck of a time finding boots for Andrea. She has small feet, size 6 I think. Not a ton of options at our local sporting good stoors. Ended up getting a pair of Lacrosse 800 hunting type boots. These paired with good socks has kept her feet warm so far.

Pretty sure there are some thermacell insoles that are bluetooth and can be controlled by your phone.   Thats according to Lee and Tiffany on the outdoor channel.

My wife wears Blizzard Stalkers and loves them with the Yak tracks for ice fishing.

If fact, she wore them the past two mornings to shovel the sidewalks, decks, and the driveway too.  I am blessed.

Cabela's Predator Extreme!

Warmest boot that I have ever worn!

Get 1 size larger then you usually wear! Bulky but very warm while sitting on the ice or deer stand!

Cliff

On my third season with the predator extremes and have never had cold feet! Between working outside in the winter and ice fishing I've had a lot of boots and these are the best I've tried! even when you're on the move, when you're feet get sweaty, these boots keep your feet dry and warm. Couldn't recommend enough.

You have to buy her these because she'd never pick them out herself.  Get the white ones.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
