Looking Ahead to Summer

Recommended Posts

Back from LOW, but looking ahead to summer. What is the fishing like out of Zippel in the first part of June for eyes and Northerns? Is it a long run to spots? I cheked maps, but just how far is Pine Island from Zippel?

Any thoughts advice are appreciated.

It is around 8 miles to the gap from Zippel bay, around 4 miles to the western end of Pine.

Thanks for the info guys. Wanted to know if my Father's boat was enough to get us where we needed to go when we get there or I'd need to haul my larger boat from here--seems it will be fine with his.

Boar, sorry to hear all the news about rain, high temps, etc. I have to deal with no ice at all except when I get there around Christmas for a couple of weeks(Brainerd area) and then Feb when my son and I go to LOW. (I can drive 4 hours to trout under ice, but, then I can be in MN in under 3 hours flying. Really looking forward to leaving LV and getting to my farm in MN.

thanks again,

wahoo

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.

I think electric items have their places, I just don't think large commercial jobs are going to be able to work well with them. Can't see a logging crew out in the woods all day changing batteries!
