Been quiet in here lately...fairly new to the Pool 2 area, but got a boat 'bout a month back, and plan on spending some time getting to know pool 2.

Was out on Saturday for the maiden voyage between Lilydale, and Ford dam. She was a flowing. Didn't have much luck. Caught a small "jack" fish (northern), and had what felt like a walleye or sauger on (could have been a sheepie), but it got off. Otherwise pretty dismal. Being new to boat fishing the river and the state of the river, kind of expected it. Was wondering if others had any luck, or if it was just my bad luck.

Out of two boats of us fishing, the only other fish that was caught was a carp on a fly rod. I was jealous.

Take care.

Marc

I was also out saturday. The water level is rising and the flow was pretty heavy. I only ended up with one walleye. A nice fat 25 incher.

Nice fish Oly. The conditions are sure different now than last fall. I hope to get down there a few times in november hitting some wing dams.

Don't take me wrong, I'm not anti-technology.  Battery powdered items will always have their place.  I'm mean you don't want your girl friend or wife in the bedroom playing for their gas powered adult toys!!  That would be a bit loud and smokey!

That’s right. My 84 year old dad loves his electric chain saw. Light weight and quiet. Besides, at his age he’s not cutting a bunch. Where as myself I want something with more power and heavier duty.  Look at how many people have switched back to gasoline cars after running one in winter if you travel a lot.   As long as my strike master works I’ll keep using gas. Maybe my next will be electric, but who knows,  you can find used gas ones pretty reasonable as others buy electric.
