I did make it out LoonASea

Saturday - out on the water @ 4am, lines set by 445.

WI side, 80 FOW - 98 FOW. 3 lines out, managed 1 coho, 1 lake trout. (out till noon or so)

Sunday - Out on the water at 1pm, lines set by 145pm (six lines this time), off the lake at 7pm.

5 lakers, 1 coho managed. No special color bombers (yes all on bombers)

Looking forward to the outing, and chances at getting a few more lakers/coho/maybe a king in the boat!

Sounds good Joel you have a seat. If we grill around noon should be no problem then.

Fishing has been very good on the cheesey side and from what I hear the Gopher side has been ok as well. Those going out on the MN. side have Rices as the best landing and the Cheesey people have Loonsfoot wich is the best landing in the whole area.

As far as grilling everyone could meet at the sandy beach coming into the Wi. piers. Its to the right and everyone could beach their boats. Its nice and out of the wind and you can swim or whatever you want.

As said earlier Park Point/Canal Park will be crazy.

This sounds like a good idea. I know I would like to launch out of Loonsfoot, and that sand beach makes an ideal swim/wade up place for a little BBQ going-ons. I'm thinking 6am Loonsfoot for those on my boat.

Well minnow right now I have room and I think we are taking off from rices at about 5:30 am. If you can make it you are welcome aboard. So far it is just me and End of the line. So Ripstick you are also welcome also if you do not have a seat yet.

Hey Guys,

I plan on meeting up with everyone for the BBQ after I get off work Sunday morning. I'm thinking that I'll even be able to find a fresh jar of Pickled Northern for the gathering.

Cheffrey,

I am in for sure on Sunday and will be at Loonsfoot before 6:00am. Other than beverage, gas money and something to throw on the grill, what should I be bringing? I don't know what sort of gear is needed for this type of fishing. Let me know what to bring and I look forward to fishing with you on Sunday.

So, its set in stone? Everyone's meeting between 5-6am @ loonsfoot, and be back @ loonsfoot around noon for a bbq to rememenber?

Woodie read the posts above. The barbeque is not at Loonsfoot at noon but at the sandy beach on the park point side between the breakwalls.

Its easy to find. As you go out the Wi. entry and get past the first break wall on your left look back and you will see the sandy beach that I speak of.

My dyslexia spoke up today. I know exactly where your talkin~ I'm sure the boats will be hard to miss once we all start coming back in. Sounds like a good turnout this year. Last year, we were hiding from the rain under the high bridge!

Looks like everyone has a ride?

Swim beach at noon it is, bring grillables and swim trunks.

Who has got a small grill and lets pick a channel.

Lets just keep it simple and stay on 16 like always. We can pick a channel from there.

Cheffrey is it worth me mounting my riggers yet? Boards are still catching fish. I wonder if I want 6 board lines out or 4 and 2 down? HMMM.

Northlander, read my report on Lake Superior. About 50% of the time when we marked a arc on bottom we would look back and see a rod pounding. Granted it was about 80 miles from where we will be at the water temp was much cooler over there. I would bring them with and keep them low.

The other thing I should mention is that half of our topwater hits came on a spoon weighted with a 1oz clip weight off a boardline.

Thanks for the 411 Cheffrey. Ya being that far away wont help too much but I put the riggers on this afternoon just in case. Never hurts to be prepared I guess.

Sorry guys, but it's looking like I won't be able to make it. I just got back from the doctors and I have a serious case of pnemonia. I am breathing off of only one lung right now and the doctors down here want to keep an eye on me for at least 48 hours and maybe longer depending if the antibiotics can shrink the infection that has consumed my right lung. You guys have fun and I'm sure you'll see me back on the water by the middle of next week. smile.gif
