My son and I were up on RED thursday and Friday for some slab fishing. Went out of Hillmans about 5 miles out. Got our first bite on Thursday about a half hour after seting up. My boy noticed that his bobber was gone, he reeled in the slack and set the hook. The rod doubled over and the reel started screaming, it did not stop until the line was totally striped off the spool. smile.gif I am guessing that it was a good size gator. We fished until about 9 with only picking up one slab and one eye. Friday morning we decided to move to a different spot. Fishing was a little better. Started picking up perch right off the bat. Think we landed a dozen or so of the critters. Picked up two more 13-14 inch slabs and three more eyes. the biggest one was about four lbs, sure was hard throwing thoses guys back. Learned alot about the Ifinder H2O I just got, The boy never put it down. grin.gif Good thing I had the car adapter for it. The new auger shaft I picked up from strikemaster on Wednesday worked great, no more fighting with ice buildup on the blades. All in all not a bad trip.

I think any time you get to spend fishing with your son, is a great outing. Catching fish is an added bonus.

Good job

Hey those H2O's are sweet i used my old mans on mille lacs and my little honey hole mud flat had about 20 people on it and it cant be 50 yard square. I did ok though made finding a flat easier and cut down time wasted to check the depth.

I really like my H2Oc as well. As you say cuts down your drilling and searching time big time. Only thing is it never saw a battery it didnt like! frown.gif
