Got out today!!!!

Hit the ice today, wasn't to safe of ice looking back on it, it really varied from spot to spot, we made sure to check evey step with the bar. Found 4 in on most of Clear lake by New Ulm, but there were spots with only 3 and there were spots with 4 but the ice was soft, only ventured out about 500 yards at most, caught 4 fish, 1 gill and 3 crappies, but it was nice to get out.

BE SAFE OUT THERE, give it a few days yet it isn't worth getting killed for.

Hey, was thinking of going out there this weekend. Any decent size to the crappies. Oh yeah was wondering how much snow is on the ice?

The crappies are small. omly about 8 inches 9 at best. There was about 6 inches of snow on the ice. Be careful there was a heave about 50 yards out from the landing, and it was water and slush. Once we got passed that it was just fine again. Also watch for the springs out there.
