Vechicles are not driving out at this time. I did drive along the shore today but was never more then 100 yards out. I did here of a pike over 40 inches caught saturday. There also was a report of a gentlemen that was out 6 miles and got 2 perch and 1 lone crappie.

Just came in off the lake, things are looking real good, 10 to 12 inches of ice almost everywhere I checked, that doesn’t mean that there can’t be spots that have less, in fact with some pretty deep snow drifts here and there I think you would not have any problem finding just 8 inches under some of them.

My biggest concern at this time is the lack of any cracks in 2 ½ miles of ice, that just is not right, most likely when the weather warms up and the sun comes out it will crack somewhere, hopefully we are not on the wrong side of the crack if it happens.

Barring any cracks, snowstorms, pressure ridges etc. we should be driving smaller trucks on the lake by Friday “that means leave those 1 ton diesel trucks on shore”.

I was out Saturday afternoon/evening. Walked about 2 miles out of Rogers. I cant believe they are charging 8 bucks just to walk out ooo.gif Oh well I guess you gotta give it to them they are trying to make a living too...Anyways my buddy and I just wanted to get out and didnt move at all once we were set up. Marked a couple fish and only caught one walleye. The fish we did mark just came up and looked at it for a while and then went back down. Ice was looking good but like someone said ealier there are some decent sized drifts that I would think have a lot less ice under them....

what about the snow... how much, will we be restricted to the plowed roads once the ice is driveable, or will a guy be able to venture off the road a ways.... get away from the crowd???

wasnt much for snow when i was up there on saturday, prob could have gone anywhere on the lake with 4-wheel drive if it had been thick enough to drive on.
