I've never fished Deadshot Bay before, but was thinking about giving it a try if it's easily accessible. Where would a person get on the ice or is it obvious once you get over there?

I don't want to sound like a dummy, but where is deadshot bay?

It's the bay west of the long bridge on Big Detroit--down in the SW corner. I believe it generally freezes up pretty early.

There are parking lots on both sides of the bridge, one across the road from Longbridge restaurant, and one across the bridge on the same side as the road as the restaurant. To access Deadshot, park in the lot across the road from the restaurant and there should be a pathe throught the reeds. Access as far from the bridge as possible as the area around the bridge takes a while to freeze over. I will be fishing Deadshot tomorrow afternoon, it is a good early ice spot. In the very NW end of the bay, I have heard of some good season long crappie fishing over 20 fow, I will have to try it this year. I'll post a report tomorrow or Sunday. First a little pheasant hunting in morning/early afternoon and then ice fishing. Does it get any better?
