Anyone been trying or going to try for the Nov. full moon.

I'm going to try and get out on lake Koronis thursday night. If the cold doesn't hit me to bad.

Wanna bet? wink.gif

I know of at least a dozen guys heading up tonight.

They're hardcore. Hopefully there's at least a little breeze for them. It's hard to keep lures in the water when the lake is skimming over with ice.

I have fished Mille Lacs in 15 degree weather. It was workable, but tough, to say the least. There was a decent breeze that night too. Every drop of water instantly froze and the boat looked like a giant glazed doughnut when we ended the night.

It does get to be a pain as the reels and rod eyes continually freeze up with moisture from the line.

You know you're hard core when you've got the buddy heater for ice fishing going in the boat to thaw things out. grin.gif

I don't get up there much but I do fish it every full moon thru the ice up. I was kinda hoping that things would stay liquid for the moon in 12-15-05. Then again it is better, easiser and more comfortable to go out on the ice, but if it is still flowing I'll try to get out.

Made a trip last night and fished our of Garrison. We found fish to be cooperative at very slow speeds off and on from about 6:00-1200 and then the bite shut off. HJ 10 and 12's in Tenn. shad were the best baits. We caught 16 fish and had another 15-20 pops. We lost our first five fish and then dropped the lines back from 75' to 100' and that helped our hit ratio. The fish were a little deeper and relating to whatever decent weedgrowth we could find. Deeper being 8'-9' for us. The fish are still there and bit really well at times so don't be afraid to get up and make another trip. All of our fish, but two were under 22".

The weater temperature was 37 when we left.

Nice report DH. I'm heading up tonight for my last hurrah. I'm a little torn between Garrison & Indian lately so I just might have to hit both smile.gif

We fished IP friday night which produced two 26+ walleyes and a bunch of tullibees. We moved to casino bay and caught one 20 incher then called it a night. Saturday we tried knox early on and couldn't buy a fish. Moved to Garrison and found nothing there either. Saw one boat working the bay by the launch, maybe that was DHenry? We tried IP again which produced only tullibee. Kind of a disappointing weekend. I'm Gonna be on the river now till ice up.

I was out last night and we had 3 fish on but didn't get any to the boat. After reading the above post I was wondering if they might have been tullibee? I've never caught a tullibee and wouldn't expect they'd hit raps. I thought it had more to due with how slow we were trolling (<1.6) compared to normal (2.2).

Water temp was down to 38.4 by midnight.

It was probably us you saw at Pike's Point as we fisher there for all but about 45 minutes as we made a run to St. Albians which didn't produce a fish. As calm as it was saturday night the key was using the electric trolling motor and going very slow. I bet 75% of our bites were with the electric in neutral. As mentioned, we also had a lot of short bites which is what happens at times when the water is 38 and the boat is barely moving. Most of the fish we caught were on the back hook and unhooked themselves as soon as they heat the rubber net.
