Happy trails... bum ba dee da, bum ba dee da!! Well written Gene!

Geez, we all could handle your playful insults, I just wish you felt the same way. I'm sure you'll be back for more when your Lions start off 1-0... I mean you'll be in that Detroit frenzy you get... maybe you'll poke your head up sooner... maybe in the Miami Heat forum that hasn't been started yet? grin.gif

Your insults have now become repetitive and frankly I've become annoyed with your 6th-grade educations. There is another baseball website/forum that has been intriguing me, since it is filled with Tigers fans to go along with all the other MLB teams...far more engaging. Have nice lives...CIAO.

I will miss your posts that were so lacking in argumentative support that any 6th grade education could rip them apart. I saved the balance of my brain with the post-secondary education in it for those threads that required it.

Enjoy the time with your kid.

Atleast he left us with a very good picture of sunset on Buffalo Lake.... unfortunately I'll remember him for other things. He will be back come the Lions season.

Hello Boys,

Think you can get rid of both of us???

THINK AGAIN! I am like the black knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail. You can cut off both my arms and legs and I will still come back for more. Like Chumbawamba said, " I get knocked down, I get up again, ain't never gonna get me down". Speaking of down, did all you Twinkie eaters happen to catch any baseball games tonight. The Twinks lost to the lowly Injuns at the baggie dome, too bad, Morneau could have used some of Juan Roid-Cons happy juice on that last fly to center, it might be, it could be, it's just a fly out to end the game. Another loss for the Twinks. Now, in the Windy City, we have the best team in baseball battling another first place team and what's this...JERMAINE DYE WITH THE WALK OFF HOMER to win the game.

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES!

Sleep tight Twinky fans, I ain't goin' nowhere. Rest well Backherup, I will continue to fight the good fight here in Twinkie-ville. Twinks now 5 games out and falling fast. My prediction, 9 games out by the end of June.

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES!

More fodder, and when the Palehose are in 2nd, be ready for the excuses 'cause he's got more than a Cub fan watching Bartman.

Hey Crappieflop,

In August, I will be up in Minnesota for two weeks, knifing my 80 or 90 illegal 12" walleyes and bringing them back to the Windy City to have a huge Illinois fish fry to celebrate my Beloved Pale Hose SPANKING THAT TWINKIE ARSE as they pound them into submission to finish off the season. The Twinks may not even get the wild card after the Sox take care of them. Oh well, another series, another victory. Two out of three against another first place team. What new? Next victim.

Buzz,

I know Windy is stirring the pot again as he would not do anything illegal like that. Despite being a Sox fan, I beleive he is a sportsman at heart.

After battling with Windy last year over Cubs and Sox, I know how he thinks - he just loves to stir the pot. I didn't think he would resort to actual lying to do so though.

Once again, Geno knows me all too well!

Buzz, that statement was in response to some Twinkie-lover in a past post who was feebly attempting to challenge my fishing skills. When me and Gene were kidding about taking tons of fish this moron chimes in saying that I probably knifed all my fish and talked about taking undersized fish.

I was following in the footsteps of my mentor, Mr. Rush Limbaugh, when I was illustrating absurdity by being absurd.

Though I do believe in taking home my limit for everybody in our party who buys a license, I do adhere to a fairly strict slot ( 14-21 inch ) and all my fillets are expertly cut and vacumn sealed immediatly and quick frozen. Our family enjoys those tasty fillets all year long until we return to Minnesota the next year. We have been going up there for 17 years and we take 4 generations of family, usually about 15-20 of us FIB's!

So to all you hyper-FM'ers I have to quote Sgt. Hulka when I say, "Lighten Up Francis"!

And as usual...YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES!

Sled,

I thought that was a shot from Juan Roid-Con's locker. Or maybe Onterrio Smith's from the Vi-Queens locker room. But maybe not. I guess you probably have never had a back injury that required you to take this stuff for a prolonged period of time and that it is in fact very addictive. Just ask Brett Farve. Of course you would have to actually engage in physical activity to injure your back.

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES!

Way to go Windy...but I suggest you watch that wording a little. Maybe maroon, as Bugs Bunny would say, could have been a better descriptor.

And to all our thread friends I gotta say I'm lovin' every post. Chiming in to keep the banter going is almost the most fun I have (outside of the bedroom or the bathroom).

See Geno,

That's why you love me...Cause we're the same, as Danny DiVito said in Other People's Money. You haven't been too talkative this year since your beloved have been so bad but you were smart not to start chirping when they went on this mini-run. Avoid putting the ole Florsheim in the mouth. Funny that it took losing your biggest offensive star and your two best pitchers before the rest of the Cubbies figured they better get on the stick and start producing. Whatever it takes though, I guess. Oh well, talk to you soon. I have to go and stir the pot with some of these Twinkie-eaters and reintroduce them to the best pitcher in baseball, Mr. John Garland. Later my friend, hope you stayed safe with the storms today. And as usual...YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! Windy

Ive injured my back before, but ive never needed a prescription (2,000+pills..good god!)to Norco & Lorcet (which can cause possible deafness..coinsidence?)I never needed any Hillbilly Heroin, aka OxyContin, especially not from someone handing them over in a denny's parking lot (common sense). But what would you expect from a chickenhawk who stayed out of Nam cause of a cyst on his butt? Or an outward racist who tells his black callers to take a bone out of their nose...among other ignorant racial comments.

Trivia, name the person who said this.

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be

convicted and they ought to be sent up."

How about this...

"What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use, too many whites are getting away with drug sales, too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

lol! Like hero, like follower.

Windy,

Luckily? I only wear a size 9, so the old shoe leather has been tasted quite a few times over the years.

Sled,

You've got me - what the heck was that post all about?

I am found dumb again. But I do like the idea of building more prisons, capital punishment, an eye for an eye.... And you guys against capital punishment need not remind me that once in awhile a convicted man is proven innocent. You gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet you know.

You have too believe the way all the twins starters are pitching right now that its a short matter of time before that 3 1/2 game lead by the sux is a 5 game lead for the twins. The sux havent had a start too a season like this for a long time and they have only a 3 1/2 game lead. The full 162 game season will show that the sux we have seen through 50 games is a total fraud. Night in and night out the twins are getting quality starts from all 5 starters, that is how titles are won.

Geno,

That is the obvious rantings of a bleeding heart, tree hugging liberal out there in the land that elects "rastlers" as their Governor. Go figure. Makes you appreciate the Land of Lincoln, doesn't it. Good luck with the Jays, we get to try a little Rocky Mountain High for a few games. Later my friend.

Yeah, actors, rasslers, whoever can sling the most gets elected. I still would have liked to see Perot as Pres.

Anyway, the Cubs are hot, but still a long ways from me flapping my gums yet. Maybe by the time I return from Cass (where I am sure to meet that Cardinal lover Vitt) the Cubs will have come back to Earth. In the meantime, I'll be hoping they can stuff a few birds (Jays). We don't get Halladay until Wed. so we have a chance to take this series.

Geno,

If they can't beat Chacin, they are gonna have "all they can eat" with Mr. Halladay. He's the real deal this year and I got a feelin that he is gonna feed the Cubbies about 8 or 9 innings of "bagels" if you get my drift. I could be wrong but I wouldn't bet against him. Good luck...UNTIL JUNE 24TH !

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?
    • LakeofthewoodsMN
On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭
    • Rick G
Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
