Anyone stuck at home today??

Just wondering if anyone is looking to go out today. Ive got extra room, and am planning to do some scouting on Clearwater.

How is the ice out there? I'm thinking about shooting out there or Cedar tomorrow.

Any fish?

Clearwater had 4-5" clear ice. Went out on Sat and caught 1 waleye, 1 crappie. Saw tons of walleyes on the camera in 47 fow, but could only get one to bite. Also saw tons of crappeyes suspended 6,15, and 20 ft off the bottom. Once again, could only get one of them to bite. I threw everything I could think of at them, even my rod holder (fell down the hole). Might have had something to do with the ice sounding like the fourth of July with all of the cracking and popping.

To bad about the rod holder. Maybe with Christmas around the corner, you have something to put on the list.

Do any of you ever get out and fish after, say 6:00pm, for crappies?

More often than not, after 6 on weekdays. Generally mornings and afternoons on weekends.

Last year we did fairly well in the later hours after 6pm. We had a house out on Grand for a while and did O.K. and also a Lake in Clear Lake called Jones we were always out there later than 6pm. especially if you have to work until 5.

great to hear, actually thinking about getting out tomorrow after work.

My theory- I'll try a lake and if it doesn't produce a night bite, then don't go back.

I know one thing for sure Captain there is no bite at all when we're not out there!!! GOOD LUCK
