Ice Conditions

There is about 4" of ice on the Rainy River although there are areas with open water near Silver Creek and the International Bridge in Baudette. Not enough for us to venture out yet.

River now has about 9" of ice in areas from the really cold overnight temps. We were -30 last night and staying below zero until Saturday. Seeing more houses on both US and Canadian side setting up. We have our portable all ready to go, maybe this Sunday when the weather warms up??

10" of ice and a small community of about 20 fish house near the Vidas Ramp. Our neighbor Jim and Tyler fished Tuesday and released a 23" and 27" walleye, keeping a couple for a fish fry. Rain/sleet this morning with a change over to snow later in the afternoon. Storm warnings said improving conditions starting tomorrow.

Fishing was producing smaller walleyes today along with some eelpout. Cold weather coming in again starting tomorrow night.
