Any walleyes biting in the Ely area I'm headed up to the inlaws for Christmas and would like to do some ice fishing? Most of the time I can drive on the lakes this time of year how is the ice so far?

Moose, I wouldn't plan on driving anywhere on the ice yet. It's getting better but not that good. Haven't much yet RE: walleyes. Too busy getting ready for trout. Good Luck.

Moose - I'll also be heading home for the holiday and plan on getting out on Shagawa Christmas Day. Either Sandy Point or Stinky Ditch. If you want to try and get out, let me know.

that sounds like a plan. What time do you plan on going out? I've tried both places in previous years with limited luck but am willing to go agian. Have you ever tried ringrock this time of year?

Moose - I'm not sure yet. I checking with a buddy who usually puts a house out on Sandy Point. If it's available, I may sit down there most of the day. For sure for the evening bite. I'll know better in a couple days. If it's just sitting out on a bucket, will probably go down to stinky ditch around 3:00. Haven't tried ringrock. Not sure where that is.

Leaky, Sorry I missed ya Nels and I went out to White Iron that night. I was on Shagwa on Sun night and got 1 walleye and 1 perch on sandy point . hope to meet up some other time maybe on the pond sometime this winter.

Moose - Sounds good. I'll be on the pond the weekend of the 8th. Some guys at work rented a shack for the weekend. I'm pretty sure we are going out of Brandts.

can't make that weekend. I was up there today off macs twin bay very slow could get them to look but no takers.
