I havent seen any postings for Marion yet. Has anyone checked it lately or fished it yet, do you think that it would be good by next week? Would like to get out and set up some tip ups for northerns.

I stopped by the access last night and there was a guy setting tipups about 30 feet out and there was a black portable up closer to 35. there was a few solid inches on the north side of the lake but all the slushy looking wind blown ice on the south end my guess is after the cold snap early next week most lakes should be walkable, but always use your head when out on first ice

i used to fish the S.W. corner of the lake. hammer Handles all day long. great action for the kids and the ice in that area is some of the first to freeze. Big cold front this weekend so we all should be out early next week!

I was thinkin about settin some tipups up tomorrow morning, and was wondering how the ice was, Ive never fished this lake in the winter and wondering what part of the lake would be the best for some northerns.
