The Crappies in my tank haven't moved since noon. Must be a slow bite tonight.

They are the only thing that I have ever been able to gauge the fishing on.

Anyone else notice that or is it just me?

Iv'e never been able to corrulate and action between the two, mostly because if I am out on the lake then I can't see how my perch are acting....I do know that they won't hit on anything after bar close confused.gif

i was actually out fishing crappies late afternoon today and there were fish on the graph but couldn't get them to bite. i know they were catching them there a couple days ago so today may have been just a poor day for fishing, it was cold and windy and that didn't make it much fun either.

i believe it is legal for for certain species depending on what kind of permit you have.

Children are the best permit there is! tongue.gif

It is illegal for anglers to transport live fish, including in livewells of

trailered boats. The only exception is for purposes of display in a

home aquarium. Here are the conditions: You can purchase game fish

from an authorized licensee and transport the fish live if you have the

necessary documents (such as a sales receipt), or, if you are age 16 or

under, you may transport—if you’ve legally caught them by angling—

largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass, black

crappie, white crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, green sunfish, orange

spotted sunfish, and black, yellow, and brown bullhead. No more

than four of each species may be transported at any one time, and

any individual fish can be no longer than 10 inches in total length. At

no time may water from infested waters be transported.

So there, he says..lol. a few years back a pet store i went to was selling panfish, small northerns and perch. a few weeks later i went into the store again and they were gone i asked where they went. The owner said he had to dispose of them because it was illegal in Mn. to have game fish in possession in an aquarium. Thats all, i don't care, just asked a ?.

I do recall the same thing 'bout 8 years ago down in the cities, very hard to get ahold of any regional game fish in a store without special ordering them. Wasn't trying to rub it in weas' just clarifying. There is nothing wrong with calling someone out. We all can't be right all the time. laugh.gif

Illegal, or not, they sure are moving right now. I wish I could be out there. They hadn't moved all weekend, but today they have been very active

I have heard a couple of legalities about keeping fish. Here is the one I go by, If you have childeren and they are an educational tool, and if you do not exceed you possesion limit, you are ok. Either way, if it isn't legal, someone please shove bamboo shoots up my finger nails because I am certain that it is the first slightly illegal thing I have ever done and I don't want to get into any bad habbits. grin.gif

I wouldn't worry about doing something that is illegal, as long as you don't go to, oh say a fishing forum and let the whole world know that your doing it. grin.gif

You know what is funny is that you can keep gamefish in your fish tank, but the regualtions say that they count towards your daily limit. Good luck enforcing that one!
