does anyone know how much ice there is in front of the VFW on white bear lake?

would be nice to get out tonight for some crappies if we have good ice.

As of monday, there was only about 1 1/2-2 inches directly in front of the vfw. It didn't look to safe, and it cracked when I hit it with my pick, Just to the south of the vfw there is more like 3-4 inches of solid ice, and you could possiby fish in the SW bay of the lake.( near all the docks) I didn't go out too far, so check the thickness as you go out, but it looked good on monday.

Is the lake totally froze over yet? Hows the ice around bellaire beach coming along?

Its froze over completely. I checked the thickness on the north end near the bridge yesterday, and it was about 3" just off shore. I'm not sure how thick it is off of bellaire.
