Here ya go, I cried for this sled when I was a kid. grin.gif

Wouldn't this make a great Christmas present for your boy of girl. Maybe even for yourself to get on the ice. smirk.gif

Runs great, tracks in very good condition. Seats been professionally reupholstered. New lights and wear rods. Just jump on and go. Could use a new belt.

I believe its a 1970 give or take a year.

She is a beauty! One of my friends may be interested in it. I gave him a call and let him know.

Thanks for the reply to my email reguarding your sled. I am currently looking at my neighbors sled (Indy 400(as I have posted in the snowmobile forum)). He just told me that he was selling it. It is alot closer, other wise I would probably snap it up. Thanks again- RR4

I'd feel better if you saw it before you made a commitment to buy the sled.

I used to a race a 70 Scorpion with a 440 Hirth engine. Wondering what brand and size engine does this have.

Hey Merc, I grew up in St. Wendel, and we used to ride Scorpions too. We had a 1968, 69, 71, and 75 over the years. It was always fun to tag along with dad to K&B Enterprises when he went in to buy oil.

If I had the money and the storage space I'd buy this one just for the nostalgia.

Smokey, that's really funny because K & B bought the dealership from my dad. He sold them from 1964 to 1970. That is how I got into racing Scorpions. Parts are free when your dad has them, you just take them. The older sleds were probably bought from us. Hopefully nothing fell off as I used to assemble them. We sold a lot of sleds to the St. Wendel area back then. I still have two 1972 sleds, but I would like a 70 because that was the sled I raced the most. Any hint as to who you are, you should know me now.

My name is Eric Pierskalla, HHS class of '78. Go Huskers!

My dad's name is Art. He, my uncle next door, and the neighbor on the other side of us all bought identical 1969 "Mark III" snowmobiles at the same time that year. Of course, since they were identical sleds, they would have to race them every now and then to see who could get the most out of them.

Smokey, I was going to guess that last name as my dad sold a lot of sleds to those guys back in the 60s. Those were the fun days. Every night everybody would meet in Meiers field on the edge of town and race up and down the field, readjust the carb, race, put in new plugs, race, put on a new belt, race, put a ski back on that fell off, race and then usally get towed home by one of the few remaining sleds that were still running. Next night, all over again. The funny part was there were four dealers in town and it was a battle to see which brand would be the fastest for that night. The good old days!!! I did do a lot of cross country and oval racing for four years, that was a blast back then as a person could actually compete against the factory teams then. I graduated in 69, but I remember you. Thanks, Jerry M.

S T, I'm probably 15 minutes away from you and would like to talk about this sled. I'll give you some time to catch up from the Bash and we'll have a chat.-Pete
