I'm a BSU grad and I'm headed to idji town this weekend, is there enough ice to fish out in front of the boathouse and campus? How far can you get out before the ice thins out?

Ice is being made in a hurry. It is cold right now(4 degrees)... Irvine has between 6-9 inches and I checked Bemidji today and I found between 4-7 inches. I only ventured out as far as I could with a small sled, chisel, and auger. Noticed some brave souls going farther out but it is cold.....

We just got into town today and looking into fishing bemidji tomorrow. I fish a whole lot in S minnesota, but there are actually keeper fish up here(so i here). What would be a good plan to take on. I saw two bunches of houses E and W of the river in town. Any help would be appreciated. Will be up here all week if anyone is heading out and wants a follower...i have all the gear and brought a 4 wheeler

R,

I just got back from X-mas in the metro and will be out all week fishing...Talk to some folks that are on the south end and they have 12.5 inches of ice. There are trucks everywhere on the lake and someone drove from the Nymore access to the Library Bar...That takes some guts in a full size 250 or 350 truck.

As for ideas or areas to go. As I get out this week I will post some info for you. The south end has been slow but should pick up real soon....

Had a good bite going yesterday morning for a couple of hours. The walleye's are on a light bite right now. They were so picky it was crazy. This morning we had the aqua vu and saw lots of walleys swim right on by frown.gif I hope they find the key for their locks before the big storm that they are predicting.

The ice measured a strong 16 inches on the NE end of Bemidji, so I drove my burb out this morning. Fished yesterday and today from 5-10 AM.

Good luck out there and keep us posted.

Had clietns in the sleeper on Lake Bemidji yesterday and today. They did very well on jumbo perch, a 7 year old little girl caught one measuring in at 11.5"!! They also picked up a dozen walleyes between 13-17" and lost a couple as well, they were picky like Woodman said. Three pike and a 'pout as well.

24' of H20. Jigging Phelps Glow Spoons with a shiner head, Demon with a small shiner under an Ice Buster, and Demons on the rattle reels caught the fish.
