Island Lake

Has anyone ventured out to Island Lake yet this year? Haven't made it over there yet and was just wondering about the ice thickness and if the winds did any damage to the big lake?

Just found out that Island Lake has 7.5-8" of ice and had some folks that tooled all over the lake yesterday on their wheelers and said that the ice is in good condition. The walleye and pike bite was an early afternoon bite that shut off around 4pm, which is normally the time when the walleye bite starts kicking in on Island Lake.

Any reports on Round or Blackduck?

And do you have any lodging that has kitchens or a cabin.

Labby, on Blackduck Lake some folks are picking up some walleyes and northerns in the 14-18' depths sporadically throughout the afternoon, no set "hot bite time" pattern has really developed yet, especially with the heavy winds we had last weekend and then again yesterday that helped stir things up. For those looking for perch the shallower waters (10-11') on Blackduck have been more productive. I haven't talked to anyone who has been on Round Lake this month yet, so can't help you out on that one.

We do have one large unit that not only has the living room and seperate bedroom, but also has a kitchen with all the full size appliances, dishes, etc. This unit also connects to a standard room for the parties needing more bedroom space. There's also a couple of the smaller kitchenettes.
