Buffalo Walleyes

Gentlemen,

I have been fishing Buffalo in the winter for 4 years now and have only caught about 4-5 walleyes through the ice.

HELP!!!!

I could use some hints on what you guys will be using for bait, jigs etc.

I very much appreciate any help.

i found a few honey holes last year out there. caught limits of walleyes, craps and northerns out of the same hole. i found some good walleye action early in around 15-20 feet of water. i like the basic glow blue or green jigs. angel eyes worked very well for me last year. when i went for craps i think i was in about 26 feet or so, i have to check the GPS, and found walleyes out there as well later in the season. i have caught walleyes out there with pretty much everything, crappie minnows, fatheads and shiners. i prefer fatheads and shiners but have caught them on crappie minnows when fishing for craps. maybe we could meet up out there sometime and i could show you a few spots. i might head out there this weekend if there is enough ice. there are some real good spots out there if you can find them. stay away from the shanty towns out on the ice also. we had a spot that wasn't very far from one of the villages out there and just slaughtered the craps. tons of fun. let me know if you want specs on the depth. hope this helps. email me for more info. if you need it [email protected]

However, you fella's got bigger plums than I do to go out on the ice this soon.So it may be a few days until I go out.My wife would kill me if I died before she got her christmas presents.

Backherup, floating plum's OK!. If they go through I'm thinking frozen plum's.

Oh I'm working on a map of buffalo with one foot contours, for the major spots.
